Assess the dietary intake of CARBOHYDRATES based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (see Food Groups and Calorie, and Nutrients that I attached). Your response must be in paragraph format. Analyze, explain, provide specific reference values and examples to each prompt below (i.e. pretend you are not writing to the instructor but explaining to a layperson the quality of your diet).
To answer these questions :
· Spreadsheet: This report will have the foods you ate for each day as well as the fiber and sugars contained in each food.
· MyPlate: will help you assess whether you ate enough servings from each food group
· Macronutrient Distribution: will tell you what percentage of calories came from each macronutrient
1. Vegetable intake:
What is the recommended vegetable intake for you? Did you reach this recommendation over the course of the three days analyzed? If not, please explain.
How much is recommended from each of the vegetable subgroups (dark green, red/orange, legumes, starchy vegetables and other vegetables)? Did you meet the recommendations for each of the subgroups? If not, please explain.
If there were vegetable groups missing, are there vegetables you would consider including?
2. Fruit intake:
What is the recommended fruit intake for you? Did you reach this recommendation over the course of the three days analyzed? Was it from a variety of fruits? Please explain. How were the fruits consumed, fresh, dried, smoothie or juiced?

4. Recommendations reflections:
Did you reach the recommended carbohydrate intake range over the course of the three days analyzed? Overall, are there improvements you would like to make?
What is the recommended amount of fiber you should consume each day and were you able to reach that recommendation? What foods contributed to your fiber intake? How well did your food record line up with the MyPlate recommendations?
Provide at least three examples of foods you did OR you could eat to get enough carbohydrates in your diet. Explain why getting this amount this important?
5. Simple sugars:
How much simple sugars did you consume? Do you believe this is within moderation for your total intake of carbohydrates? If not, what would be healthy substitutions? Or, would a decrease in portion size and frequency help reduce the amount of simple sugars consumed?
